Project Brief

'$25 in 25' is a campaign with the ultimate goal of making minimum wage a liveable wage. So '$25 in 25' stands for making minimum wage $25 an hour during the year 2025. The creation of this campaign was seperated into different stages. Researching the topic, the logistics and figuring out who the target of this campaign would be. Designing the logo and a brand toolkit to go with it. The final section was coming up with a guerilla campaign and figuring out exactly how the message would be spread.

Problem

The problem was crafting a strong logo that could represent such a strong campaign and creating all of the supplementary content that comes with it.

Solution

The logo is created to be a striking and punchy icon that can be placed anywhere as a sticker, on posters, on clothes and pamphlets. The letter forms of the 2 and 5 are both the same shape and that helps make the symbol much stronger. The guerilla campaign is made up of large receipt-shaped banners in places populated by minimum wage workers and people who would be directly affected by minimum wage raising. The banners include content on how much a minimum wage worker is paid currently and how much it costs to live by yourself. The numbers never add up and it is clear that minimum wage isn't enough to live comfortably on your own in Winnipeg.
